Baruntse climbing expedition - Qualifications

Baruntse is a straightforward mountain as we take the South east route. You will climb on snow and at higher altitudes, you will do some ice climbing at steeper sections. At 7000 meters you will do mixed climbing on rock and ice just before the summit. Noramlly there are some cornices at the top ridge that you have to challenge.

Baruntse is a great mountain if you have bagged a 6000 meter mountain in the Himalayas, South America or Denali in Alaska. It is also a great preparation climb for a 8000 meter mountain, as you will see how your body reacts and works above 7000 mters.

You have to have earlier experience of alpine climbing to be able to join this expedition. We want you to have done a 6000 meter mountain to qualify here.

Your physical and mental healt must be good. Be prepared to trekking days of 4-6h and sometimes longer
