Cho Oyu climbing expedition - Program
Day 1 Flight from Stockholm
Day 2 Arrival Kathmandu
Day 3 Half day sightseeing to Hindu temple and a Buddhist monastery Briefing on the climb and control of your gear
Day 4 Preparations in kathmandu ahead of the climbing
Day 5 We are driving to Zhangmu (border city in Tibet). We are continuing to Nyalam.
Day 6 Rest day and acclimatization in Nyalam
Day 7 We are driving to New Tingri
Day 8 Rest day and acclimatiziation in New Tingri
Day 9-12 We are driving to Cho Oyu Base camp. You will climb a few mountains around Cho Oyu. We will after that start our two day trek up to advanced base camp. We cross the river Ra Chhu and set camp for the night. Next day we trek to advanced base camp, which is next to Nangpa La at 5800 meters.
Day 13-37 Our strategy is to set camp at 6500 meter and 7100 meter during the time we are getting acclimatized. After that we are descending to Advanced base camp to rest and recreation. We will start out summit bid from ABC and we are climbing and using our camps we already prepared in camp 1 and 2. We will establish a camp 3 at 7400 meters. You will start your summit bid from camp 3 around 1 am. You should reached the summit between 9-11 am. After fantastic views we are descending to camp 3 and maybe all the way to camp 2 depending on strength and health. Following day we are descending to ABC.
Day 38 We are packing up our camp in ABC
Day 39 Trekking to Chinese Base camp
Day 40 Driving to Nyalam and then Zhangmu
Day 41 After crossing the border and Chinese immigration into Nepal we are driving to Kathmandu
Day 42 Kathmandu
Day 43 Departure home
