Combo climb Mera Peak & Island Peak over Amphu Laptsa - Program
Day 1 Departure Stockholm
Day 2 Arrival Kathmandu
Day 3 Half day sightseeing to Hindu temple and a Buddhist monastery Briefing on the climb and control of your gear.
Day 4 Flight to Lukla (2800m), trek to Chutanga (3400m).
Day 5 Rest day and acclimatization trek in Chutanga.
Day 6 Trek to Kharka Tang (4050m).
Day 7 Trek to Tuli Kharka (4000m). We will cross the famous Zatrwa La pass (4600m).
Day 8 Trek to Kotay (3500m). We will descend the valley today.
Day 9 Trek to Tagnag (4246m).
Day 10 Trek to Khare (5000m).
Day 11 Rest day and acclimatization trek in Khare.
Day 12 Trek and later, glacier walk over Mera La and up to Mera Peak High camp. (5800m)
Day 13 Summit push to Mera Peak (6476m). You will start your summit push around 03.00-04.00 am and should reach the summit roughly at 08.00-09.00 am. The last 50 meters are 50 degrees steepness. We will arrange with a fixed rope here for your highest safety. Later on we descend to Mera High camp and after that through Mera La Pass and trek down to Kongma Dingma.
Day 14 Trek to Thulodunga and into the Hongu valley.
Day 15 Trek to Panchpokhari
Day 16 We trek to Amphu Laptsa Base camp.
Day 17 Trek over the famous Amphu Laptsa pass (5780m). On the way up you will have sections with 40 degrees steepness and up at the top ridge, your view over Lhotse and Island Peak will be spectacular. On the way down you will trek on both ice and snow and this is the exciting part of the pass. We will have a fixed rope here for your safety. On a short section you will have to repel. After this you will continue to Island Peak Base camp. (5000m)
Day 18 Rest day in Island Peak Base camp.
Day 19 You will climb up to Island Peak High camp (5600m).
Day 20 You will do a summit push on Island Peak (6189m). Descending to Base camp.
Day 21 Extra day for a summit push in case of bad weather.
Day 22 Trek to Pangboche.
Day 23 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3500m).
Day 24 Trek to Lukla (2800m).
Day 25 Flying to Kathmandu.
Day 26 In Katmandu.
Day 27 Departure home.
